Your website needs to be composed of unique pieces of content. This rule confuses many webmasters and internet marketers, because Google does not automatically punish identical content that occurs on duplicate sites. This means that if the editorial content contains the backlinks and that they have been placed in a website that is known by search engines, you have discovered a great way to transfer that same level of trust to your own content.
SEO is about optimizing the marketer's efforts to obtain as much value as possible from each given piece of content that is hosted on their site.
